How to Turn Every Movement Into a Mini-Workout

With many gyms still shut down it’s been tricky to get in a good workout this year. That’s why the team at Viewheel dug into our impressive collection of ebooks and audiobooks to bring you some tips on how to turn everyday movements into mini-workouts.

Wrist and ankle weights. Once seen as a fitness gimmick, wrist and ankle weights can in fact be effective when it comes to burning more calories on a daily basis, and can eventually help develop strength and tone muscles too.

Weight vests. Similar to wrist and ankle weights, weight vests will force your body to put in just a little bit of extra effort when it comes to everyday activities. They can be a little unsightly, however, so you may want to wear them under a jacket or sweater.

Walking lunges. You may not like us for this one, but you’ll get fit fast if you substitute your regular walking for walking lunges. Worked into your daily routine, walking lunges may not be the most effective way to get around, but they’re definitely an effective way to build strength and tone those legs!  

Stairs. Last but not least, everyone’s favorite… Stairs! An excellent source of cardiovascular exercise and a great way to strengthen your legs, taking the stairs whenever possible, and going up and down an extra few flights while you’re at it, will work wonders! Even if you only have access to a few steps, you can put them to excellent use and keep yourself fit in the process.
